Stream to my circle of trust
I’m dealing with some stress these days and sometimes I get really anxious. Like anxiety episodes. So I may use some prescribed clonazepam but mostly I talk to people.
These episodes tend to happen at night (I believe there’s even a scientific explanation for this) so I’m usually not able to have in person chats but I can have multiple digital chats and audio messages. Bless technology, I guess.
Fortunately I have quite a lot of people willing to listen and respond so I may overlap what I say in several chats and maybe forget if I did say or not to the next person.
This is not a problem, they don’t care if I repeat myslef. I don’t care if I repeat myslef. But that doesn’t mean I can’t think of a nerdy solution that gets me writing AND communicating what is going through my mind to whoever wants to be in the loop.
I basically thought of a feed, which should be able to hold text, images, audio and video. It should be private, probably “anyone with the link” type of thing since the people I talk to don’t know what RSS is and I need to make it simple for them.
For now, “the feed” is the chat. And yes, conversations go different ways with different people. But I was thinking maybe I could have a “base content” where whomever wants to listen to what I have to say can do so by visiting my feed.
I know what you’re thinking: that’s exactly what a blog is, and that’s exactly what I’m doing right now.
Well, not quite. This would be for people in my circle of trust. It should be easy for them to check it. So like an RSS feed but for people that don’t know what an RSS feed is. Maybe a Telegram / Whatsapp / Whatever channel could do the trick. They can have it silenced and archived and read when they want to.
I like the idea of a link more than any other one, like: hey this was what I wrote today in case you’re interested. So yeah, it’s a blog, for my closest.
Then there’s the privacy stuff, I can annonimize some data (because password protect may be a lot) or reduce the types of content to text (removing other media like audio, image or video).
If its juat individual posts, I could use something like jotit or tinyblog and I’d be set.
I may try this approach and see how it goes. Especially in these times of sorrow (for me).
Thank you for reading.
