It’s nice to have a friend
I have a friend who I see every other Friday. We do mostly the same thing, which is order empanadas from the same joint over and over again, and talk.
We talk a lot. We talk about ourselves, our thoughts, our fears, sometimes we get into our own philosphies. We talk and listen to each other.
When one of us gets sleepy, we call it a night, he usually walks me home, we talk some more and we say our goodbyes.
This ritual has been repeating itself for a long time, only interrupted by 2020’s lockdowns.
I am grateful and it feels really nice to have such a friend. I was lucky enought to meet him 28 years ago at school. That’s a lot of years. And a lot of friendship.
I don’t think time matters that much but it sure solidifes a relationship or at least it gives you a common language. And that’s awesome.
I wish everyone could experience this and I think they can. It’s not about time or luck, it’s about what you do.
You only need one good friend. I have a couple, but I only need one. I could live without it, I guess, but I prefer this way.
Get yourself a friend, I’m sure you won’t regret it.
Thank you for reading.
